| Read Juampa’s Story!! I’ve met some pretty incredible people in my short life thus far, but when I meet a modern day hero, I have to write about him.I actually met Juan and his wife Rachel for the first time at my OB/Gyn appointment when I was pregrant with Sarah. They were expecting a little girl too. Her name is Velda. I thought to myself, “I wonder if this is the person hubby has been telling me about moment, Pastor who wears a leather jacket and rides a motorcycle” and by now, you know me and my social butterfly self, I just had to ask. And sure enough, I had heard about Juan through my husband, and a friendship took birth, right there in the doctor’s office.
Although our families haven’t spent enough time together, if you get to put in requests with the Big Guy upstairs, I know who I want for my neighbors to make up the time…if you get a say that is. I love love love this family! They are passionate, fun, and committed. To the cause of feeding children around the world who are the poorest of poor. And from my hubby’s point of view, doesn’t hurt that he rides a motorcycle. And Rachel is quite the photographer! So I wanted to introduce them to you. And what better way, then by sharing a story. The story of Juan’s NYC marathon run. Because, just like our team is planning to run on March 24th, Juan leads NYC Team World Vision, and he ran and continues to run: FOR THE CHILDREN!!
